All church services, as well as the hourly prayers in their beauty, are publicly and celebrated in german in the tradition of the byzantine-othodox churches.
The musical presentation of all church services follows in basics the tradition of the russian orthodox church. The high quality of the german translations and their superb musical adaption are fundamental for imparting vitally the rich spirituality of the christian east.
The Association for the byzantine church in Niederaltaich cordially invites you to join celebration. Let yourself get carried away by the happening, if this kind of church service is new to you. A small folder though might assist you celebrating.
The benedictine abbey Niederaltaich is located at the Danube, approx. 10 km east of Deggendorf and is easily reached via the autobahn. The churches sanctified to Saint Nicholas, the grand and the adjacent minor church, both border the inner yard of the abbey directly.
